No More Coconut Oil

So as most of you have already read I have sensitive scalp along with dermatitis so I am always particular about what I put on my hair because I know eventually it will be on my scalp. My products need to compliment my hair as well as my scalp so even if I get great results on my hair but my scalp itches than it gets the boot. I have been monitoring my scalp when I apply coconut oil and I've noticed for the last 4 to 5 months that everytime I apply coconut oil to my hair my scalp becomes really sensitive to the point where it is tender and painful. You all know where I'm going with this one ... after I use up my coconut oil on my skin I wont be purchasing it any more. I already have my extra virgin olive oil, Kariderm Organic Shea Butter and Jamaican Black Castor Oil, the only thing I will miss is the scent (boo).

I'm shocked that the coconut oil did that to you I have seborrheic dermatitis pretty bad and I use coconut oil all the time and I never had any problems.

I hate itching and flaking really bad so I tried this hair oil from Komaza Care and I haven't one problem yet. When I use it I massage my scalp and never scratch after using the oil as needed, taking biotin, and combating the yeast thats in dandruff with pure tea tree oil My scalp has never and I mean never looked or felt better.

I use to cry because I would have such thick dandruff and my scalp would bleed and nothing I tried would help. My scalp has improved so much I don't have to wash my hair twice a week any more, just once.

I hope you find something that helps you I know your pain!!

Hi MoZaic,

Thank you so much for your comment.

I don't know why the coconut oil makes my scalp sensitive and the funny thing also is tea tree oil also did the same thing so I also stopped using that a year ago. everyone is different, my body chemistry just doesn't like those oils. I have found oils that work and the sensitivity to the middle of my scalp has really improved.

Thanks:)

Sorry for the late comment, but I also cannot use coconut oil. Imagine my surprise as a newbie natural when my dermatologist told me to remove coconut oil and products with coconut oil out of my hair and face regime! O_O!! So, I've been using other oils instead...olive oil for heavier coating, sweet almond oil for lighter coating, and jojoba oil for something in-between. Oh yes, avocado oil is a good substitute, too.
