I Heart Avocado Oil

With all the avocado treatments I have been doing the past few weeks I thought about picking up some Avocado oil at The Big Carrot this past weekend. So of course me and cousin made our way down there and got distracted with all the great skin care, hair care and cosmetics they have to offer. It amazes me how much product they are able to pack in their beauty section. Finally, we made our way to the cooking section where they carry the avocado oil. It was around 17.00 bucks for 16.9 FL OZ for the La Tourangelle brand.

Avocado oil stays fresh for about one year after opening if stored in a dark cool dry place and is exceptional when used as a hair oil, hot oil treatment and for deep conditioning. It is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B5 (Panthothenic acid), Vitamin D, E, minerals, protein, lecithin and fatty acids (source). I noticed that avocado oil is heavier than olive oil but not as heavy as the Jamaican Black Castor Oil and both me and my cousin agree it left our hair soft, smooth and manageable after her hot oil treatment and my night time treatment (applied to hair before bed and wrapped in satin scarf). The oil also gives amazing shine to my hair. I will warn not to be heavy handed when applying this oil to your hair and scalp, a little bit goes a long way.

I have the EXACT same Avocado Oil as you and I love it so much.

I use it once a week in my protein treatments so that it lasts longer..since it is kinda expensive - but worth it nonetheless.

Great post =]
